J*Y

Hi, I'm Josiah Yu

I’ve been making art for about nine years, following whatever sparks my curiosity. In 2018, I received the Walt Disney Motif Award for child advocacy, which deepened my love for creativity and storytelling. Growing up, I was captivated by the worlds I saw on an old Sony TV—adventures with Woody and Buzz, searching for Nemo, or sailing alongside Davy Jones. Those stories made my world feel bigger and that wonder and curiosity still inspires my art. Hopefully I can to create future performances that are as immersive and alive. I’m excited to continue pursuing that passion as a committed student to Gnomon.

My art, shaped by curiosity, movement, and memory.

I work with all kinds of mediums, but oil and pastel are my go-tos. Over the years, I’ve also expanded into digital art, which pushed me to think differently and experiment more. I’m drawn to emotion, movement, and quiet details—most of my work comes from memory or a feeling I don’t want to lose.
